In Charley’s Memory is all about making mental health matter for young people

We work to support not only the individual, but the network of people around them. This is done through education, support services and advocacy. Fundraising events and the generosity of the public, allow the charity to reach its missions and therefore work towards the prevention of suicide in young adults.

The charity was founded in memory of Charley Marks, who took his own life in September 2014. Charley’s friends and family began raising money and supporting young people and have now established a successful charity based in Somerset.

In Charley’s Memory received official charity status in March 2015 under No. 1160805 and since then has moved into premises in Burnham-on-Sea, with a team of volunteers and staff.

In Charley’s Memory aims to do the following within Somerset and surrounding areas:

  • To make support services to young adults with Mental Health conditions more accessible and reliable
  • To work with other organisations to help raise the profile of Mental Health
  • To advance the education and knowledge surrounding Mental Health within learning environments and wider communities
  • To support and guide the network of people around someone with Mental Health conditions
  • To reach out to young people looking to learn about mental health and recruit them as Ambassadors
  • Run exciting projects and programmes designed to improve the wellbeing of the young people of the West Country

In Charley’s Memory is a friendly, local and open charity that is determined and passionate to make a difference.
